Week 1: Study Part A of Volume 1: Architecture & Terminology Overview in the
Bluetooth Core Specification and read
Ch. 1 and 2 in JSR-82 before the first Bluetooth lecture
on Monday. Read about the Baseband in the Bluetooth Core Specification (Vol. 2, Part B, Sec. 1-7) before the second lecture.
Week 2: Read about the Link Controller in the Bluetooth Specification (Vol. 2, Part B, Sec. 8) and
Ch. 3 in JSR-82 before the lecture on Monday. Extra lecture on Wednesday.
Week 3: Study the Link Manager (Vol. 2, Part C) before lecture on Moday. Download Java code for client-server example on
this page. Read about HCI (Vol.2 Part E)
and L2CAP (Vol. 3 Part A) before lecture on Wednesday.
Week 4: Read Sections 9.1--9.5 in JSR-82 before lecture on Monday. Read Ch. 5 in A. Klingsheim's Master Thesis. Study and run the sample code in Part 8 before Wednesday. Use MIDP and JSR-82 APIs to improve your understanding of the code.
Week 5: Study and run the sample code in Part 9 before Monday. Use MIDP and JSR-82 APIs to improve your understanding of the code. Read about Bluetooth Security (Vol. 2, Part H) before lecture on Wednesday.
Week 6: Lecture on J2ME Security.
